Network member S. Sara Monoson has just published ‘The making of a democratic symbol: the case of Socrates in North-American popular media, 1941-56’ in Classical Receptions Journal 3.1 (2011).

We welcome the publication of Why Athens? A Reappraisal of Tragic Politics (Oxford, 2011), edited by our colleague David Carter.  The collection of essays makes a major contribution to the current debate about the political aspects of Greek tragedy.

A member of our Network, Paschalis M. Kitromilides, has edited a new book on Adamantios Korais and the European Enlightenment (Voltaire Foundation, Oxford, 2010).
